Am I better off waiting till I have 5 years of experience and filing EB2? How can I find out the
wait time for an EB3 applicant born in Ghana? Thanks

Additional Details:
My first 3-year H1B visa will end October 2012. My employer is willing to file my green card
application. I have an undergraduate degree (Engineering) and will have to file as EB3 (as far as I
know).

You can check the visa bulletin, which changes every month. The priority date for Ghana (worldwide category) for EB-2 is current whereas for EB-3 is 2/22/06. Your experience with the same employer may not be used towards the 5 year requirement for EB-2 for several reasons unless it is a different position.
