Religious worker visas have come under a lot of scrutiny in the last few years. There is also a provision that has a sunset clause for non-minister religious worker permanent resident applications.
What this means is that once the sunset date passes then there are no longer religious worker permanent resident visas available. This includes nuns, monks, chanters, deacons, etc. The current sunset occurred September 30, 2009. Hopefully Congress will extend this religious worker visa program soon because many will suffer hardship expecting to immigrate and finding out they do not qualify.
